West Virgina Army National Guard OCS This is the page for West Virginia Officer Candidate School. As a candidate you complete your required IDT drills at Camp Dawson at the pay rank of E6.

Officer Candidate School for the West Virginia Army National Guard is a traditional program where candidates complete a two week Phase 1, 11 drill weekends at Camp Dawson, WV (Preston County) under IDT status, and a two week Phase 3. As a candidate, you must be eligible to complete a four year college degree by graduation, have a 110 GT on the ASFAB, and pass an APFT. There are also opportunities

to complete Officer Candidate School within 8 weeks under an accelerated program associated with the West Virginia Officer Candidate School. Officer Candidate School is a rigorous physical and intellectually challenging course. Candidates will be evaluated on their physical, intellectual, and leadership abilities. Upon graduation, candidates are fully recognized as 2LTs in the West Virginia National Guard, in the branch of their choice.
