Ever wonder what it would be like to attend a one-room schoolhouse? Sitting in a rickety wooden desk and writing times tables on a slate like Laura Ingalls? Well wonder no more…come see us on October 3rd at the Oak Summit School for our annual open house & yard sale! Our doors will be open for you to step back in time to a simpler era. Additionally, we will have some knick-knacks and treasures set out for the town wide yard sale—all proceeds will go towards further preservation of the school! We hope to see you for a hands on experience of local history and bargain hunting!

We would like to extend our thoughts, prayers, and condolences to the family and friends of the late Rick Epstein. He was a champion of local history, a wealth of knowledge, a gifted writer, a steadfast family man and friend, and will go down in history as a true local legend.

We deeply appreciate his participation, support, and the unwavering ready-to-help attitude he has always brought to the society, and will dearly miss seeing him in and out of the school house. Thanks for everything, Mr. Epstein ♥️

As we approach the 50th anniversary of the formation of Oak Summit School Historical Society in 2029, we would like to compile more photographs, written records, and stories of the bygone era of Oak Summit School to share with the community! 📚✏️🍎
