Kleberg County Fire Rescue would like to thank Mr. Victor Alvarado for allowing KCFR to practice vehicle extrication on some junk vehicles he allowed us to utilize for the rescue training. We were able to use some of his vehicles to allow our newer firefighters and our more seasoned firefighters to practice their skills and hone their techniques in vehicle rescue and extrication. Mr. Alvarado is a strong supporter of KCFR and always steps us and assists our department by allowing us to practice our vehicle extrication skills, we want to to send him a special thank you for all his assistance he gives to ensure we can keep the community safe.

Kingsville is invited to come together on Friday, September 11, for a special 25th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony honoring the lives lost and the first responders of September 11, 2001.

The ceremony will take place at Javelina Stadium beginning at 9:00 a.m.

The Burn Ban for Kleberg County is in effect.

The Kleberg County Commissiors Court has implemented a burn ban that will begin on Sunday August 30th at sunset and continue for 90 days unless rescinded or renewed by the Court. Please safely burn any brush you are needing to burn before the burn ban begins and take all possible precautions for fire safety.

Information about Bertha

4 AM Update: Tropical Storm Bertha continues moving westward toward the Texas coast. The storm will move inland later today. Showers and thunderstorms are expected for South Texas especially this evening and tonight. 1-3 inches of rain are possible south of a line from Victoria to Laredo.

Kleberg County Fire Rescue would like to thank County Judge Rudy Madrid and Kleberg County Commissioners for their hard work in procuring a new 3000 gallon Tanker Fire Apparatus to protect Kleberg County. Kleberg County Fire Rescue firefighters will train on the operation of this truck and place it in service very soon.

Rain Predictions for the week

A tropical plume of moisture will continue to keep chances of rain through mid-week, with Monday and Tuesday having a Moderate Risk (level 3 of 4) and Wednesday with a Marginal to Slight Risk (level 1 to 2 of 4) for flash flooding. Remember: Turn Around, Don't Drown!
