I have not had a chance to post. On Monday June 4th a manual hand recount was completed at the courthouse of all ballots for the Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Democratic Primary Runoff Election. The Election Day results were exactly the same as those counted by hand by the recount committee. Some of you may not be aware that the election equipment are tested before each election and a notice is published in the newspaper notifying the public. Anyone may attend the testing of the election equipment. Also, after the election my office is ordered by the Secretary of State to do a manual hand count of selected races to assure the accuracy of the optical scan tabulator known as the M100. If you have questions as to the process of the election, including mail ballots, feel free to drop by my office or you may contact me or my staff at 361-595-8548. I would be glad to speak to you and to put your mind at ease.
