Reduce your risk for falls!
On Tuesday, September 22, we will be joined by physical therapists from Bay State Physical Therapy, who will discuss the importance of fall prevention, and what you can do to limit your risk for falls.

This informative presentation will include:
✅Tips on proper assistive devices
✅Ways to ensure a safe home environment
✅Exercises to help reduce the risk of falls and injuries
✅Brief balance assessments

❓ Monday, September 14 at 12 pm – Ask Lauren Over Lunch -
Lauren Gregory from Assisted Living Locators will host a discussion on the next steps after discharge from a hospital. The goal is for you to learn more about your options, estimated costs, and common terminology so you can make informed decisions about your care plan. Lunch will be provided.

🚨 Tuesday, September 15 at 11 am - Join us for an important presentation from Kingston Fire & Emergency Management Deputy Chief Adam Hatch. Deputy Chief Hatch will discuss how to prepare for an emergency—including assembling an emergency kit, smoke detector maintenance, use of “refrigerator cards”, lock boxes, and more!

💃 Wednesday, September 16 at 11am - New fitness class! - Move & Groove Fitness. Get ready to move, smile, and feel great! Move & Groove is a fun, low-impact dance and fitness class designed specifically for older adults to improve their health while enjoying the music they love. Set to uplifting playlists featuring Oldies, Motown, and Classic Rock, you'll rediscover the joy of movement while building confidence and supporting your overall well-being. This is a free-introductory class, and after this, it becomes a regular weekly class for $5.

💉 8:30 – 11:30 am, Kingston Health Department in conjunction with CVS Pharmacy, will be holding a vaccine clinic at the Senior Center. Registration is available through the town website: www.kingstonma.gov

💲10 am - Massachusetts Unclaimed Property Division will be here to help you find out if your name is on the list of unclaimed property in Massachusetts. Meet with representatives from the Commonwealth to see if you’re on the list and learn how to claim it!

🎨 1 pm - Watercolor Painting - Instructor Patricia Rose will guide you along to paint a unique fall watercolor painting! All levels of talent are welcome. Class is $3, and all materials are included.

📺 Friday, September 18 at 12:30 pm - Kevin Richman of Game Shows To Go is back! Kevin brings the excitement of a “live” TV-like game show to many senior centers across Massachusetts. Come test your knowledge, have some laughs, and win some prizes!

💜 September 8 at 10 am - Building Brain-Healthy Habits
A presentation from the Alzheimer's Association - this educational program provides research-backed guidance on brain health and outlines the importance of taking action at every age to protect your brain. Research shows there are everyday habits you can build today to help protect your memory and thinking as you get older - even reducing your risk of cognitive decline and possibly dementia.

🏠 Wednesday, September 9 at 1 pm – A history of Old Home Day
Join us for a history of Old Home Day in Kingston by Kingston Public Library Archivist Librarian, Nick Cotoulas. Nick will present a historic overview of Old Home Day as a New England celebratory tradition with an emphasis on local culture, local history, and community bonding. Historic photos from Kingston Old Home Day celebrations will also be shared!

📖 Wednesday, September 9 from 1 – 2 pm - Tales of Jones River Village - Kingston's 300 Years will be here to distribute the phenomenal, Kingston 300 pre-ordered books. They will also have some available for you to purchase for $45.

🇺🇸 Friday, September 11 at 10 am - In honor of the 25th Anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, we will be showing a documentary entitled: “9/11- I was there” A unique and moving account of the day that changed the modern world.

Join us on Tuesday, September 1 for a cooking demonstration, where we will be showing you how to make a few delicious and healthy appetizers! These are great for family get togethers, game days, or a simple supper.
Each dish contains just a few ingredients, and can easily be replicated at home. Recipes will be provided! 🥄🌶👩‍🍳
