Currently, more than 100 individuals, regardless of their age or income status, receive a home-delivered lunch each day, Monday through Friday. A registered dietitian directs the program, and supervises the preparation of the meals each day. Diabetic diets are also available. As a means of respite for a caregiver, our meals can be delivered to an individual for a temporary period of time. The home
delivery includes a hot meal which features an entrée, starch and vegetable as the main meal of the day, as well as a cold boxed lunch consisting of a sandwich, bread and butter, dessert and a snack. The cost is only $6.00 per day. Meals are billed on a monthly basis. Delivery volunteers collect payment the first Monday of the month. Alternate arrangements can be made with family members who often pay for this service. Meals on Wheels of Wyoming Valley currently serves clients in the communities listed below. If there is adequate interest and volunteers to staff them, new routes can be created. Ashley
