🏛️ HONORING A LEGACY OF SERVICE TO KINGSTON ❤️

Tonight, Mayor Michael McFarland and the Kingston City Council had the privilege of recognizing two organizations whose years of service, dedication, and community spirit have helped shape the City of Kingston: Kingston Woman’s History Club and Kingston Masonic Lodge #394.

📜 Kingston Woman’s History Club

For generations, the members of the Kingston Woman's History Club, Inc. have worked to preserve the stories, traditions, and history that make Kingston so special. Their dedication to our museums, historic treasures, veterans, community traditions, and the preservation of Kingston’s past has helped ensure that our history is not simply remembered—it is passed forward.

The City of Kingston’s own history page recognizes the Club’s important role in maintaining Kingston’s museums and preserving the artifacts, photographs, and stories of our community.

🤝 Kingston Masonic Lodge #394

For more than 130 years, Kingston Masonic Lodge #394 has been part of the fabric of our community. Through fellowship, service, generosity, and a commitment to helping others, generations of Lodge members have demonstrated what it means to quietly and faithfully serve the place they call home. The Lodge celebrated 130 years of Masonic service to the Kingston community in 2024.

Tonight was about more than presenting plaques. It was about saying thank you.

Thank you for the years of service.

Thank you for preserving our history.

Thank you for supporting our neighbors.

Thank you for showing, through your actions, what community truly means.

Kingston is fortunate to have organizations whose members have given their time, talents, hearts, and hands to this community year after year.

On behalf of the Mayor and Kingston City Council, we proudly recognize and thank the Kingston Woman’s History Club and Kingston Masonic Lodge #394 for their lasting contributions to our city and its citizens.

RABIES VACCINE AIRDROP: NEXT MONTH 🦝
The USDA will be airdropping 648,000 Oral Rabies Vaccines across parts of north Georgia in October. The graphic below shows the approximate drop zone and what the vaccines will look like. The vaccine pouches will be dropped via airplane and helicopter and are coated in a fishmeal attractant to get the attention of wildlife. Humans and pets should leave these alone as they are intended to slow the spread of rabies between wildlife.
