NATIONAL CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS WEEK 2026
The first week of May was proclaimed as the observance of National Corrections Week in 1984 by President Ronald Reagan.

We proudly recognize the dedicated men and women of our Corrections Division who serve behind the walls of our jail each day. While their work often goes unseen, it is vital to the safety and well-being of our community.

Corrections Officers do far more than supervise inmates; they maintain order, respond to emergencies, and help guide rehabilitation and accountability. Their professionalism, resilience, and commitment make a difference every day. Within this Office, Corrections Officers also take on a wide range of additional responsibilities, including serving on our In-Water Rescue Team, Honor Guard Team, Drone Team, Emergency Response Teams, U.R.G.E.N.T., O.R.A.C.L.E., and in Professional Standards.

This week, we encourage our community to show their support. A simple โ€œthank youโ€ goes a long way.

To all of our Corrections Officers; thank you for your service, integrity, and dedication to Ulster County.
