Exciting update: One of the Friends was able to stop in and get a sneak peek at our BEAUTIFUL mobile Little Free Library being constructed by the Youth After School Intro to Woodworking Class at the Woodworking School at Hudson River Maritime Museum. Youth learn to build with wood using a variety of hand tools and power tools - this is the second Library they've built for Kingston! This Little Free Library will be making it's debut this summer at our Kingston Library community events- don't miss it!!

Thanks to the generosity of our donor Rotary Club of Kingston, and Dan Nelson, Max Smith and everyone in the Youth Woodworking program for making this project possible! We can't wait to roll the Little Free Library out.

Interested in the Youth Woodworking program? You can sign up here for the next round: https://hrmm.app.neoncrm.com/np/clients/hrmm/event.jsp?event=9857&

The Library will be closed Saturday May 23 and Monday May 25 for Memorial Day Weekend. We will reopen at 10am on Tuesday.

Though the building might be closed, our digital services never close. You can access ebooks, eaudiobooks, digital magazines, stream music and movies...all for free with you library card.

As Hudson Valley Gives comes to a close, we want to thank every single person who showed up for the Friends of the Kingston Library today.

Whether you made a donation, shared a post, sent a text message, encouraged a friend to give, became a fundraiser, or simply helped spread the word, you were part of something bigger.

Libraries are built on community. They thrive because people believe that access to knowledge, connection, and opportunity matters. Today, you proved exactly that.

Because of your generosity and support, we move forward stronger and more connected than before.

Thank you for standing with us, believing in this mission, and helping protect a space that belongs to everyone.

Give where you live.

This is not just another post asking for support.
Today is a one-day opportunity to stand up for something that matters.

Libraries across the country are facing real challenges, from censorship efforts to funding concerns. The Kingston Library continues to be a place for learning, discovery, connection, and access for everyone in our community.

Today, during Hudson Valley Gives, we are asking you to take two actions:

Donate if you are able. Share this post everywhere.

Share it on your page. Share it in community groups. Send it in a text. Forward it to someone who loves libraries as much as you do.

Twenty-four hours. One community. One chance to create a bigger impact together for the Kingston Library
Give where you live.

Quick challenge for today.

Pause your scroll for 30 seconds and ask yourself this:
What would our community lose without a library?

Story time for children. Free access to books and technology. Educational resources. Community events. A place where everyone is welcome.

Today only, we have a chance to strengthen and support the through Hudson Valley Gives.

Make a donation if you can, big or small.

Then hit share and help us reach people beyond this page. One share can turn into five more. Five can become fifty. That ripple effect matters.

Today is the day. Let's show up for our library and our community.

Give where you live.
