At this month’s Roane County Commission meeting, we were proud to recognize Jane Hardin for her incredible 45 years of service to the students and families of Roane County.

Jane’s dedication to our schools, her faith, and her community has impacted countless lives over the years. From safely transporting generations of students to serving others through her church and community, her legacy is truly inspiring.

It was my honor to proclaim May 11, 2026, as “Jane Hardin Day” in Roane County. Congratulations, Jane, on this well-deserved recognition!

This is the first recap I’ve done for the Roane County Executive’s Office in a few weeks. This is for the week of May 18, 2026. Please take time this weekend to reflect on the price paid and sacrifice made by men and women in service to provide all the freedoms we enjoy.

Thank you Roane County for entrusting me to lead for another four years. I’ve given you my all and will continue to do so.
I also want to publicly thank my wife, son, parents, sister, in-laws, family, friends, and coworkers for the incredible support and hard work through this challenging election season. We experienced something that we weren’t really prepared for but kept our composure and focused on a positive message about the record we’ve built for four years. I can’t express how thankful I am for each of you.
Now let’s get back to work!

What a beautiful evening as we close out this chapter.

Tomorrow is Election Day.

Four years ago, we began this journey with a simple vision: to bring people together and move Roane County forward. We believed that through controlled growth and responsible spending, we could build a future that benefits everyone while protecting the small-town feel that makes this place home.

And we did exactly that. We grew jobs, lowered taxes, and put our county on the map. But as many of you know, the road to progress isn’t always smooth. This campaign, in particular, has been one of the greatest challenges of my life. It has been heartbreaking to see the level of division, the blatant lies, and the personal hatred sent our way. At times, it has been draining. Not just for me, but for those I love most.

While I have worked tirelessly from day one, I am not the only one who has given everything to this mission. The true sacrifice often happens behind the scenes. My wife, my son, my parents, and my entire circle of family and friends have sacrificed their time, their sleep, and their peace of mind to support me. They have stood tall against the negativity and the noise because they believe in Roane County as much as I do. To ask them for another four years is a heavy request, and it is a debt of gratitude I can never truly repay.

My stance has never wavered. Change is coming to Roane County and we are growing whether we like it or not. The choice tomorrow is simple: we can continue to manage that growth with a proven team and a clear plan, or we can let that growth manage us.

I’ve never claimed to be perfect, but I promise you I have given you everything I’ve got, and I will continue to do so. We have the momentum, we have the experience, and we have the heart to finish what we started.

I would be honored to have your vote tomorrow. Let’s choose progress over division.

Let’s go win this thing.

Building relationships with our congressional leaders is a key responsibility of the County Executive. I’m thankful for the support and partnership of Congressman Chuck Fleischmann, Sen. Marsha Blackburn, and Senator Bill Hagerty.

Their engagement has helped make the progress we’ve seen over the past four years possible.

I’m proud of the progress we’re seeing in Roane County!

Leading the state with nearly 1,100 new jobs committed in 2025 is a big deal but more importantly, it speaks to the direction we’ve been working toward for years.

We’ve focused on building the right partnerships, supporting responsible growth, and making sure Roane County is ready when opportunities come our way. That work is paying off.

There’s still more to do, but I’m excited about where we’re headed and what it means for the people who call Roane County home.

Take a look at the full report from the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development linked in the post below.

Roane County led the way in 2025 job growth, with nearly 1,100 new jobs committed from three projects, more than any other county in Tennessee. 🙌

This region is proving to be a powerhouse for growth. As a key hub in Tennessee’s expanding nuclear industry, Roane County is attracting major projects and bringing high-paying jobs to its community. ⚛️
