Grayson Highlands 2026 Trip
Backpackers return trip Wilson Creek Trail. They will camp west of Third Peak. An excellent spring is
about 200 yards south of the ridge/woods camping area. Trails are rated "moderate difficulty." Enjoying some ice cream after a long time on the trail

Grayson Highlands Backpacking meeting Saturday Sept. 12 at CHPC at 8:00 AM and carpool to the
Backpackers parking lot at Grayson Highlands. Start on a 9-mile Backpacking Trip to the "Scales" area via part of the Appalachian Trail and the Wilson Creek Trail. Meeting up with the Friday night backpackers. We camped west of Third Peak.
A water spring about 200 yards south of the ridge/woods camping area. Trails are rated "moderate difficulty." We had a great time with some new and exciting experiences on this trip. Meals are prepared from their pre-planned menus, cooking with backpacking stoves. The trail route back is via the “Scales" and Big Wilson Creek Trail to the Truck-in site. We had no group doing the truck-in this year.

We had a good time good weather with some rain at night and good meals.
