Kingsport Public Library is grateful to the Tennessee Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for presenting us with a DVD set of The American Revolution by Ken Burns and its companion book, The American Revolution: An Intimate History.

These materials were provided through a Tennessee America 250 Grant awarded by the Tennessee Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial, which supplied a set to the main library in each of Tennessee’s 95 counties.

Thank you, Tennessee Society DAR, for helping bring history to our community!

✒️Behind the Book Festival: Author Features✒️
📚We have a variety of authors coming to our festival on July 18th from 10:00-4:00pm. From bilingual picture books to short stories about Appalachia there will be something for everyone to enjoy!

- sarah elizabeth: This author writes fiction and is a contributing writer for the StoryTown Radio Show and Podcast on the NPR station. she is also an active advocate for disability rights.
- Melissa Helton: This author writes poetry and anthologies. She is also the Program Director of Literary Arts for the Hindman Settlement School.
- Todd A. McKinley: This author served in the U.S. Army from October 1996 to October 2016. He is active with Veterans Service Organizations and has written a book about the mental health of veterans.
- Mark McCullogh: This author writes poetry for the whole family to enjoy.
- Pam Michaels: This author writes poetry and short stories. This is her first novella.
- Nana & Nina: These authors are twins from Puerto Rico who work together to create bilingual children's books! They are award-winning authors with multiple medals from the International Latino Book Awards.
- Kayla Nichols: This author is a poet whose debut collection has poems appearing in various magazines, including Writerly Magazine and Tennessee Voices Anthology.
- Shaw, Terry: This author also maintains the independent publisher Howling Hills Publishing. They focus on quality nonfiction stories from Greater Appalachia.
- Walker, Teah: This author writes poetry and is currently working on a romance novel.
