SCAM ALERT: Beware of Fraudulent Home Repair Offers

We've recently become aware of individuals claiming to represent Habitat for Humanity and offering home repair services that seem too good to be true.

Be cautious of anyone who:
- Promises free or heavily discounted home repairs without an application process.
- Requests payment, gift cards, banking information, or personal documents upfront.
- Uses the Habitat name, logo, or mission in a way that seems suspicious.
- Pressures you to act immediately or urgently.

Verify before you trust if someone claims to be from Habitat for Humanity. Call our office directly at 423.239.7689 before providing any information or making any payments.

Look for official communications information about Holston Habitat's programs, services, and homeownership opportunities. Application periods will always be shared through official website and social media channels.

We are looking for at least 5 volunteers each day next week to help with installing siding at a Disaster Recovery Build in Chuckey, TN.

We are so thrilled to be able to build this new home after the previous home shifted off its permanent foundation during Hurricane Helene.

Volunteer Dates:
• Monday, August 24, 9am to 3pm
• Tuesday, August 25, 9am to 3pm
• Wednesday, August 26, 9am to 3pm
• Thursday, August 27, 9am to 3pm
• Friday, August 28, 9am to 3pm

We are excited to be moving into our new administrative office, and we need your help to get everything ready!

We're looking for volunteers to lend a hand on one (or both!) of the following days:

Tuesday, August 11 | 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• General cleaning throughout the office
• Preparing the space for move-in

Wednesday, August 12 | 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• Unpacking boxes
• Organizing files and office supplies
• Helping set up our new workspace

Location:
1034 Wilcox Court, Kingsport TN

Volunteer Requirements:
• Must be 16 years of age or older
• No experience necessary
• Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes
