FYI: Due to a scheduled power outage, the Nature Center and Herpetarium will be closed on June 16. There will be limited to no access to restrooms during the outage. There will be a portalet at the mountain bike lot available for park visitors to use.

Planetarium shows will be cancelled on June 16, but all other programs will continue to run.

We’re thrilled to share that the Tennessee Naturalist Program is returning to the Bays Mountain Park Chapter!

The Tennessee Naturalist Program is a 501(c)(3) educational initiative designed to introduce adults to the natural history of Tennessee. This 10-week course offers an exciting opportunity to explore the native flora and fauna of our region, with instruction from a diverse group of professionals covering topics such as Tennessee’s mammals, forests, fungi, and more.

Registration is open now through July 31, and space is limited to just 15 participants. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this enriching experience!

Great news!! The new plates are now available in the clerks’ offices. !!!!
The process for pickup is as follows:
Those of us that already picked them up last week simply bring those back in and get the new ones with no charge.
If you are picking up for the first time, you pay the prorated amount left on your existing tag.
Having them transferred to another office (I.e. Blountville to Kingsport) DOES NOT add any transfer fees.

We have some more “Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon” shows coming up soon!

Experience Pink Floyd’s iconic album ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ like never before. This 45-minute program combines an incredible surround mix of the music with breathtaking views of the solar system and beyond.

Each song has a different theme with some futuristically looking forward and some a retro acknowledgment to Pink Floyd’s visual history. Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon is a truly immersive experience that will transcend reality and take you beyond the realms of a 2-D experience.

Thanks to the generous support of the Bays Mountain Park Association, this program will be shown several times a month until the end of the year. Ticket prices are $10 per person for park members and $15 per person for non-members.

Join us for a truly immersive yoga class at Bays Mountain! This class takes place inside Bays Mountain’s one of a kind planetarium theater. In this scenic yoga program, the planetarium will feature a Sun and Moon that simulates a day’s journey, along with newly added views of nature as we move through a series of yoga poses. These views include peaceful landscapes and breathtaking mountains that surround you with nature inside the planetarium dome. Concentric, eccentric and isometric contractions will be incorporated so students can work to optimize both their strength and balance. Finally, we conclude with a view of the starry night sky for a restorative ending.

All levels are welcome and encouraged as modifications will be offered. All participants must be 16 years of age or older. Class size is limited, so please sign up soon. Please also wear exercise clothing and bring water with a sealable lid (drinks that can spill are not allowed). Attendees are asked to bring their own mat though there will be some mats available to borrow.
