Next week is Higher Education Spirit Week at KHES! We want to celebrate the parents, grandparents, family members, friends, and community members who have continued their education, learned a trade, completed training, earned certifications, developed new skills, or simply never stopped learning!

Our Tigers are surrounded by people with incredible experiences and knowledge, and we want them to see that there are many paths they can take to reach their goals. Calling ALL Tiger Alumni please fill out our 4 question survey.

Together we roar! We couldn’t be the school we are without Mrs. Clapp. She is behind the scenes keeping everything clean, safe, and in the best shape possible. She pours herself completely into KHES every single day.

Even while trying to get this picture we witnessed her catching a request from a staff member, ask a kid how her mother was, and rake up leaves into bags she picked up that will double as holiday decorations in the court yard.

Mrs. Clapp does it all, and she represents the very best of what it means to be a Tiger.

Help us give her a big thank you for her dedication!

Mrs. Nelson’s class kicked off their NFeLementary project-based learning curriculum today. This engaging program allows students to practice their math, geography, writing and research, and social-emotional skills by tracking their chosen NFL team throughout the season. With the season just kicking off, our Tigers could wait to track the standout players and total up points, yardage, and other statistics from the games.

This programs is catching fire around the country, with some classes receiving gifts from various NFL teams.

FABLE OLYMPICS IN 1ST GRADE!

Who says reading fables has to mean sitting still?! Not our 1st grade Tigers! 🐯

Our first graders put their fable knowledge to the TEST with some seriously fun Fable Olympic Games! 🏆

The Maid and the Milk Pail — They balanced milk pails on their heads!
The Goose and the Golden Egg — They carefully carried eggs on a spoon!
Peter Rabbit — They played FREEZE TAG! (Because apparently Peter Rabbit knew how to have fun! )

They read the fables… then LIVED the fables!

There were smiles, laughter, teamwork, and maybe a little friendly competition along the way!
