Our STEM Team is helping keep summertime learning fun for local children at the Camden County Public Library! The Storybook STEM event kicked off with a librarian reading the book, “Jo Bright and the Seven Bots. ”

After the story, children used tablets to navigate Sphero educational robots through an obstacle placed between the aisles of books.

Our STEM Team explained that some people have robots at home that help clean up spills or messes around the house, and how the U.S. Navy uses different variations of robots every day, from airborne drones to Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs)!

The kids unanimously agreed that driving the robots was lots of fun, but they also gained a new understanding of how we use robotics.

We are grateful for opportunities to help inspire future innovators and problem-solvers in our community!

After serving more than eight years as the director for Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Vice Adm. Johnny Wolfe Jr., transfers leadership to Vice Adm. Douglas L. Williams. Williams, who previously performed the duties of director of test at the Missile Defense Agency, assumes command of PAE SSP as the 15th director in program history.

The joint retirement and change of command ceremony, held at the Washington Navy Yard on June 12, highlighted some of the major accomplishments PAE SSP achieved under Wolfe’s leadership, including consistently providing the nation – and its warfighters – with unparalleled warfighting capabilities.

Wolfe brings down the curtain on a decorated naval career spanning more than 38 years of active-duty service. Williams, who served in various roles and leadership positions across PAE SSP earlier in his career, brings more than 30 years of active-duty service and experience to the role.

"Every major innovation begins with an idea... Creativity is woven into all of it."

It's hard to believe it's almost been two weeks since another successful “Young Minds at Work (YMAW)” event aimed to inspire the next generation of warfighters and innovators!

Over 230 children and supervising adults gathered for a fun-filled day where children explored interactive stations introducing them to practical STEM applications in various occupations throughout the military and civilian workforces.

A huge thank you to the nearly 70 volunteers who dedicated countless hours over the past year to give our future leaders a day they won't forget!

Earning the Fleet Marine Force (FMF) warfare device is a defining moment for any Sailor serving alongside the Marine Corps. For Marine Corps Security Force Battalion - Kings Bay Senior Chief Master-At-Arms Cruz Cline, this career milestone came with an unprecedented honor. Yesterday, at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, MACS Cline was pinned by Medal of Honor recipient Robert Ingram, who also earned the FMF qualification during his service as a hospital corpsman.

"Today, I experienced something I’ll be telling my grandchildren about. Today wasn’t just a pinning-- it was a reminder of what commitment, sacrifice, and legacy look like when they stand right in front of you."

Congratulations, Senior Chief!

Last week, we had the opportunity to volunteer at the Camden County Mobile Food Pantry to support our local families. Giving back to our community is important because the communities we serve are the same communities that support us and our families every day.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve beyond our daily duties and proud to do it alongside so many dedicated volunteers who care deeply about making a difference.

Bravo Zulu to NC1 Smith on his recent reenlistment, officiated by LTJG Bell!

This reenlistment is particularly special as it marks NC1 Smith's official rate conversion from Missile Technician to Navy Counselor. As a Navy Counselor, he will be at the forefront of shaping our force, directly assisting Sailors with their career development and providing them with vital information on opportunities available to them within the U.S. Navy.

His dedication to the growth and advancement of our Sailors is a testament to the core values we uphold. Congratulations on your continued service and new career path, NC1 Smith!

Congratulations to Team SWFLANT for their outstanding performance at the annual Dunham Challenge, hosted by the Marine Corps Security Force Battalion Kings Bay!

The Dunham Challenge is a rigorous fitness event that honors the memory and sacrifice of Cpl. Jason Dunham.

A SWFLANT participant said it best:
“I return each year for two fundamental reasons –first, to pay tribute to the profound sacrifice of Cpl. Dunham, and second, to immerse myself in the incredible spirit of teamwork that defines this event. It’s a powerful combination of remembrance and shared purpose.”

In 2004, while serving in Iraq, Cpl. Dunham made the ultimate sacrifice, shielding his fellow Marines from a gr***de. For his incredible heroism, he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

We are proud to participate in an event that honors his legacy.
