Ever wondered what your Kingfield firefighters are up to at the station? Here's an inside look at just one training drill we do while on shift. Our firefighters must be proficient at deploying ladders of various sizes up to our 35' 3-section ladder. June's drill is to empty the ladder truck of all of its ladders every shift.

Ladder 192 carries a compliment of ladders: one 10' attic ladder, one 12' combination ladder, two 16' roof ladders, one 24' ladder, and one 35' ladder. Not to mention the 75' aerial 👊

Your Kingfield Fire Department would like to thank Skowhegan Savings for donating pizza for our monthly crew night. This month, our crew did gear inspections to ensure that our equipment is ready to respond alongside us. After gear inspections the crews enjoyed dinner and some informal training.

We would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family, friends, and firefighters mourning the heartbreaking loss of a firefighter killed in the line of duty today while responding to the devastating explosion and fire at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont, Maine.

We also continue to keep all of the injured firefighters, emergency personnel, mill employees, and community members affected by this tragic incident in our prayers as they begin the difficult days ahead.

Per-Diem Firefighter/(EMT Student), Eric St Pierre Jr., is response ready with our new Statpacks - Responder medical bag that was placed in service last week. This bag, along with our Cardiac Monitor and Lucas mechanical CPR device, was purchased using grant funding from Maine EMS as part of our initiative to sustainably strengthen and modernize our medical first response to YOUR emergency.

This aligns with key parts of our mission statement and core values: The protection of life using tactically aggressive operations 👊

Why are there so many fire trucks at the town park???

Your Kingfield and Phillips Fire Departments battled it out on the court in full turnout as our SCBA consumption drill this year. Apparently, Phillips Fire Department can ball! Congratulations to them as the winners of the game 🏆

KFD and PFD train together regularly to strengthen our incident operations, usually its a bit more serious trainings...but sometimes it's good to just have some fun 🏀
