📣 Community Awareness ⚠️
Tomorrow, September 11, 2026, Kingfield residents can expect to hear fire apparatus sirens throughout the morning from approximately 0830 to 1030. There is no cause for concern.
Twenty-five years ago, on September 11, 2001, 2,977 people lost their lives in the deadliest foreign terrorist attacks on U.S. soil. Included in that count are 343 firefighters who lost their lives responding to the Twin Towers in New York and countless others who lost their lives in the years following due to 9/11 related illnesses and injuries.
Their loss is still felt today. To mark the 25 years, and to honor their sacrifice, your Kingfield Fire duty crew will sound the sirens at each of the critical points throughout the day on September 11, 2026. This commemorative event will not delay or interfere with an emergency response should the need arise.
While this is not a public ceremony, we invite our community, when you hear those sirens, to take a moment to pause and reflect with us.
May we never forget.
