King George County Registrar Office The Registrar's Office maintains the official registration records for the county in which they serve It maintains accurate and current registration records.

The office provides the appropriate forms for applications to register and obtain the information necessary to complete the applications. It updates the voter registration system to reflect changes to election districts, precincts, or polling places and attempts to notify each affected voter. Any resident of the county or state may register by coming in person to the Registrar's office, or by downloading an application at www.sbe.virginia.gov and mailing it to the office address.

Just a friendly reminder that Early Voting for the November 3rd Election begins Friday, September 18th!

⏰Early Voting will be available at our office Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

We will also have additional weekend hours:

For voters who have requested a mail-in ballot, ballots will begin going out September 16th.

Hello, King George Voters!

Saturday, August 1st is the last day to vote early for the August 4th Republican Primary. Early voting hours on Saturday are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Election Day is Tuesday, August 4th. Polls will be open at all King George polling locations from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

This is a Republican Primary for United States Senate and Virginia's 7th Congressional District. The Republican nominees selected in this primary will advance to the November General Election, where they will face the Democratic nominees, including incumbent Mark Warner for U.S. Senate and incumbent Eugene Vindman for the 7th Congressional District.

Good Morning, King George Voters,
I wanted to provide an update on the upcoming August 4, 2026, Republican Primary Election.

We are currently offering Early Voting for the Republican Primary for the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives for Virginia's 7th Congressional District.

To provide some background, Virginia's primary elections are typically held in June. However, due to the April 21, 2026, Special Election regarding congressional redistricting, this year's primary was moved to August 4, 2026.

Had the redistricting proposal been approved, King George County would have moved from the 7th Congressional District to the 8th Congressional District. Because the proposed redistricting was ultimately invalidated by the Supreme Court of Virginia, King George County remains in the 7th Congressional District.

As a result, the current officeholders, Congressman Eugene Vindman and Senator Mark Warner, are the Democratic nominees for their respective races in the November General Election.

The Republican Primary will determine which candidates will appear on the November 3, 2026, General Election ballot to run for the United States Senate and Virginia's 7th Congressional District seat in the House of Representatives.

Early Voting began on June 18 and will continue through August 1. There are three candidates seeking the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate and three candidates seeking the Republican nomination for Virginia's 7th Congressional District. A list of candidates is available on our website.

Virginia does not register voters by political party. Therefore, any registered voter may choose to participate in this Republican Primary Election.

The Dahlgren District polling location for the April 21 Virginia Special Election has changed to Potomac Elementary School (16495 15th Street). This is a temporary polling location change for THIS TUESDAY (ELECTION DAY) ONLY!

The Dahlgren District polling location will return to its regular location at the University of Mary Washington Dahlgren Campus (4224 University Drive) for the August 4, 2026, Primary Election and November 3, 2026, regular election.

Update on the April 21, 2026 Special Election

The Virginia Department of Elections (ELECT) has reviewed the recent order issued by the Tazewell Circuit Court regarding the April 21, 2026 Special Election. The court’s order applies only to the named defendants in the case, including local election officials in Tazewell County, ELECT, and the State Board of Elections. The February 20 request to pause has been withdrawn. Parties not named in the lawsuit may continue their efforts in support of the election.

We will share updates if additional information becomes available.

At this time, the April 21, 2026 Special Election remains pending (ballot printing is halted). We must receive approval from the Court and the Virginia Department of Elections before proceeding. We are moving forward with operations and election prep in the interim.

SPECIAL ELECTION: 4/21/26 FOR ALL VIRGINIA LOCALITIES

April 21, 2026

During the 2026 Regular Session of the General Assembly, legislators passed and the Governor signed House Bill 1384 designating a Proposed Constitutional Amendment question to be presented to Virginia voters in an April 21, 2026, Special Election.

Here's the question voters will be deciding:
"Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?"
