King Cove Department of Public Safety

09/15/2026

The Department would like to remind residents to be aware of bears within our community. We have received several reports of bear sightings near the New Rams subdivision and harbor area in the past couple of days.

As bears sightings are continuing, please be mindful of the following:

-> Secure your trash - be mindful of any trash that may be around your home, and refrain from leaving trash out.
-> Leash your pets - dogs can provoke bears or lead them back to residential areas.
-> Report sightings - if you see a bear in town or acting aggressively, please call the Department.

Thank you for your cooperation.
