June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month. This month highlights the importance of protecting older adults from situations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Elder abuse is a widespread issue: statistics show that 1 in 10 Americans aged 60 and above has experienced some form of elder abuse, and only an estimated 1 in 24 cases of elder abuse are reported to authorities.

Together, we can raise awareness and prevent elder abuse in our community.

May 10-16th marks National Police Week 2026.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy declared by presidential proclamation the creation of National Police Week, including Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15th.

The King City Police Department takes this time to recognize all of the officers who have given their lives in the line of duty, as well as those who continue to serve and protect our communities with dedication and courage.

A big thanks to City Councilor Sandy Cunningham for joining Lt. Sigler out on traffic detail last week!

Councilor Cunningham and Lt. Sigler hit almost every area of King City that has seen an uptick in speeding complaints, and worked several stop signs and four way stops.
