Tonight American Legion Post 244, Kinder Louisiana held it's last meeting until September. The members discussed several things for the upcoming Kinder Pancake Breakfast raffle which should be ready for the beginning of July. Heard from Mr. Lawrence Rasberry about the success of the Red, White and Blue and Sauce Piquant car show. Members shared great fellowship and while enjoying a great meal. See Yall in September.

We want to take the opportunity to thank Stine Home + Yard for their generous donation to help remodel the American Legion Hall outside.

The building has sustained years of storm damage and it’s time to start replacing the old siding and make the building weather tight again.

Also thanks to former Post 244 Commander Eric Kuyper and Senator Jermey Stine for helping make this process possible.

In light of the recent passing of Mr. Shannon Fontenot’s wife, we regret to inform you that the American Legion monthly meeting scheduled for the 16th of this month has been canceled. This decision was made to accommodate the visitation and funeral arrangements.

Our next meeting will be held on March 16th.

For those who wish to attend the visitation and funeral, please note the following:

Visitation:
Date: Monday, February 16th
Location: Ardoin Funeral Home, Kinder
Time: 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Funeral:
Date: Tuesday, February 17th
Location: Ardoin Funeral Home
Time: 10:00 AM

Service will be held at Ardoin’s, followed by the burial at Green Oak Cemetery.
