KHS Art Students Take home National and State level Awards through the Congressional Institute!

Yesterday 8 of our KHS Art Students were a part of the reception for The Congressional Art Show. The Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school art competition that's been going on for over 40 years to recognize and inspire the continued artistic talent in our youth. Since the competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated. Scarlett Anderson took first place in this year's show, and her lioness pastel drawing will be on display in Washington D.C. in the tunnel that connects the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Capitol for a year until next June. Scarlett and a family member will have their flight covered to the nation's capitol to be present at the national ceremony this June. Brooke McGinnis was the third place winner, and her Shawano Lake sunset painting will be on display at the local congressional district’s office for a year.

Congratulations to our dedicated KHS Art Students!
