If you attend Kimberly Middle School athletic events this fall, you'll notice two new scoreboards hanging in the gym.

The previous scoreboards served KMS for 34 years before being replaced this week. Over the decades, they tracked countless games, matches, tournaments, and Bulldog memories.

A special thank you to Elite Restoration and Petersen Brothers Construction Inc., whose sponsorship helped make this project possible. Their investment will benefit Kimberly Middle School students, athletes, and spectators for years to come.

At Kimberly School District, our grounds and facilities are a source of pride for our schools and community. Throughout the summer, our custodians, grounds crew, maintenance team, and paint crew work tirelessly to prepare our buildings and campuses for another successful school year.

As we begin summer projects, we wanted to make patrons aware that beginning May 28, the Twin Falls Canal Company reduced irrigation delivery from a 5/8 share to a 1/2 share. This results in an estimated 22% reduction in surface water available to irrigate district grounds.

KSD will be working closely with Windsor’s Nursery, who generously assists the district free of charge, to maximize irrigation efficiency and help preserve as much turf and landscaping as possible.

Because of the reduced water availability, patrons may notice a few changes across district properties this summer:
• Grass may be allowed to grow slightly longer to help retain soil moisture
• Irrigation may occur during daytime hours in addition to overnight watering
• Some non-essential grassy areas may receive limited irrigation and could begin to brown

We appreciate the community’s understanding as we work to responsibly manage limited water resources while continuing to maintain safe, functional, and welcoming campuses for students, staff, and community activities.

A special thank you to our summer crew pictured here. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but their efforts are instrumental in preparing our schools, maintaining our facilities, and ensuring our campuses are ready to welcome students back in August.

Last night, the Kimberly School District Board of Trustees and district administrators were treated to a special performance by our Elementary Handbells students under the direction of Roberta Beck.

These talented students showcased months of hard work, dedication, and practice while sharing their musical talents with those in attendance at the May Board Meeting.

We occasionally receive questions asking why schools are able to offer free meals during the summer months, but not always during the regular school year.

Summer meals are funded through a separate federal program specifically designed to help ensure children continue to have access to nutritious meals while school is out of session. Because of this program, meals can be provided free of charge to all children ages 1–18, regardless of household income.

During the regular school year, school meal programs operate under different federal guidelines where free and reduced-price meal eligibility is based on household income qualifications and USDA program requirements.

Kimberly School District is grateful to participate in the Summer Meals Program and provide this opportunity for children and families within our community.
