GSRP Scores Major Investment in '24 State Budget for Preschool Program Expansion

In the FY2024 budget agreement reached this week, Democrat lawmakers and Governor Whitmer, who campaigned on promises to create a universal pre-kindergarten program for Michigan families of all incomes last year, made good on those pledges by directing massive investment increases totaling nearly $160 million into the state’s free Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) for 4 year olds. A family of 4 earning $90,000 per year is eligible!
