🚓 Traffic Tip Tuesday 🚓

Sgt. Trussell is here with this week’s reminder: slow down in parking lots.

Parking lots are still roadways, and they are full of pedestrians, parked vehicles, and drivers backing out. A few extra seconds can prevent a crash or injury.

✅ Drive slowly
✅ Watch for pedestrians
✅ Check twice before backing out
✅ Stay off your phone
✅ Use marked spaces

Safe choices make a strong campus community.

This morning, members of the Texas A&M University–Central Texas Police Department were excited to attend the annual House Bill 33: Uvalde Strong training, hosted by Sheriff Bill Cook at Academy ISD.

Representing our department were Chief of Police Chief Flores, Detectives Daniels and Magee, and Officer Gallegos.

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue training, learning, and strengthening partnerships with fellow law enforcement agencies and school safety professionals. Trainings like this help ensure we remain prepared, informed, and committed to the safety of our students, staff, and community.

Thank you to Sheriff Bill Cook and Academy ISD for hosting this important training.

Tell someone where you’re going, keep your phone charged, know your exits, have a backup ride, and stay with your people.
A little planning now can prevent a big problem later.
