We're going to be at Kool & the Gang renting chairs and helping with recycling efforts Saturday!

As the designated CHAIR-ity for this event, First Flight Rotary Club will be donating all funds raised at this event by our efforts to the Community Care Clinic of Dare.

What a fantastic day for service, fellowship, and FUN on the Outer Banks! ⛳💜🏃‍♂️

Following the 40th running of the Nags Head Woods 5K, the First Flight Rotary Club continued the day with our Putt Putt for Polio Eradication event at Professor Hacker’s Lost Treasure Golf.

Thank you to everyone who participated and supported Rotary International’s End Polio Now campaign. Your support helps Rotary continue the global effort to eradicate polio and protect children around the world from this preventable disease. 🌎❤️

As the second major fundraiser of the day for First Flight Rotary, the event was a wonderful example of our community coming together for service and impact. We are grateful to all of our players, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who helped make the day such a success.

The Nags Head Woods 5K is proud to be the longest-running charity race on the Outer Banks — bringing together runners, walkers, families, and supporters for four decades in support of local causes and the preservation of the beautiful Nags Head Woods.

From its beginnings in 1982 to today, this race has become an Outer Banks tradition filled with stories, friendships, and “first 5Ks.” Thank you to everyone who has helped make this event such a special part of our community over the years. ❤️

🎉 Congratulations to Dare County High School student Marla Woodson on her graduation from the Leadership OBX program through the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce!

The Rotary Club of First Flight was proud to sponsor Marla for this outstanding leadership experience. Programs like Leadership OBX help shape the next generation of community leaders, and we are excited to see all that Marla will accomplish in the future.

On hand for the ceremony were Past District 7720 Governor Stan Keeler, District 7720 Governor Elect John Polk and First Flight President Luke Baer, who was also a graduate from Leadership OBX. Congrats President Luke!

A work in progress. From concept to reality—what an incredible journey of service, collaboration, and impact!

Thanks to the support of a Rotary District 7720 Grant and the generosity of the First Flight Rotary Foundation, we were proud to support the Children & Youth Partnership of Dare County to bring a vision to life: a vibrant Outdoor Learning Environment designed to inspire, educate, and empower young minds.

This dynamic space will now feature a beautiful butterfly garden to spark curiosity about nature and pollinators, an interactive music station where creativity and rhythm come alive, and a hands-on mud kitchen that encourages imaginative play and sensory exploration.

What started as an idea has grown into a meaningful place where children can explore, learn, and connect with the world around them.

A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated Rotarians and volunteers who made this project possible—contributing several hundred hours of time, talent, and hard work to bring this vision to life. Your commitment truly embodies Service Above Self.

Service above self in action—and a lasting investment in the future of our youth. 🌱
