Kilgore College Police Department

Kilgore College Police Department Kilgore College Police Department This calls for a safe and orderly environment so that all members of the community can fulfill their individual missions.

The major responsibility for the safety and well-being of students, faculty and staff members at Kilgore College rests with the Campus Police Department. The department recognizes that it has a wider mission than other law enforcement agencies, adding significantly to its responsibilities. Department personnel are sensitive to the unique nature of the college community - a diverse group of student

s, faculty and staff. The Kilgore College Police Department is a State-Certified police agency. They provide protection 24 hours-a-day, every day of the year. Their authority extends to the Kilgore College-Longview campus and any property owned or leased by Kilgore College. The officers are empowered to write citations, make arrests and investigate all criminal incidents on campus. The KCPD cooperates with other law enforcement agencies at the local, county, state and federal level. This includes communications and the coordination of special events. The KCPD is part of the City of Kilgore Police Department communications system which provides for immediate mutual assistance. As a service to the students, staff and visitors, campus police will assist with minor vehicle problems such as jump starting low batteries and accidental lock outs.

Dear Residents,
This week, the Kilgore College Police Department handled a report regarding a stolen vehicle. On Monday, KPD recovered the unoccupied vehicle.
KPD had taken a juvenile runaway and believed they might be connected.
Last night, after a second vehicle was stolen, KPD Detectives pursued leads until this afternoon when Officer Torres located the vehicle on North Street. Two subjects fled the car on foot; one was apprehended immediately, while the other fled into a wooded area. A perimeter was established by Officers, Detectives, Administrators, and KCPD. Our Drone Unit was deployed, and since our K-9 units were away for training, the Longview Police Department (LPD) provided a K-9 unit to assist. Ultimately, the driver was located and taken into custody. We thank KCPD and LPD for their assistance.
Additionally, we received a report of a vehicle burglary this week, and this morning, we were provided with video footage of subjects attempting to enter a truck in the Spring Tree Addition. It appears these are the same suspects involved in the vehicle thefts. We are grateful to the citizens who quickly shared this footage to assist our investigation. If you see something, say something. Together, we can make a difference.
Both stolen vehicles have been recovered and will be returned to their owners. The two suspects are juveniles and have been transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Gregg County. Our investigation remains ongoing, and we anticipate additional arrests.
Please remember to keep your vehicles locked at all times and never leave your keys in the car. Never leave unsecured weapons or any items of value in plain sight.

Huge congratulations to both our Men’s and Women’s basketball teams for their incredible wins against TJC and TVCC this week! The energy on campus has been electric.

Between the excitement of the games and the long hours on duty, our officers needed a qiuick recharge. Of course we had to stop by our local favorite Cozy Coffee Station - Kilgore to fuel up.

Thank you Cozy Coffee for keeping us caffeinated!

Kilgore College has been selected to receive a $18,660 grant from the Texas Political Subdivisions Joint Self-Insurance Fund (TPS) through its 2025 Safety Grant Program, funding the purchase of 15 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) installed across campus along with Stop the Bleed supplies and first aid kits.

Wow, Kilgore community you truly showed up and showed out! By the end of the parade, we were completely out of popcorn and hot cocoa. We had such a great time interacting with everyone, and it was especially heartwarming to see kids faces light up when they received a glow stick along with popcorn. We’re already excited for next year, but first we want to extend our gratitude: A special thank you to Cozy Coffee Station - Kilgore for generously donating the hot chocolate and cups. We heard so many compliments about how delicious it was! Thank you to Kilgore College TRIO Department for lending us their popcorn machine, which helped us serve up all that tasty popcorn. And of course, thank you to our amazing community for stopping by, sharing a smile, and spending time with KCPD Officers and Campus Safety Officers. This event was such a joy for us, and we’re already planning for next year. Until then, we’re grateful to be part of such a supportive and festive community 💙
