Overnight, a large tree fell on Ocean Lane Drive, blocking both lanes of traffic. Thanks to the quick response Key Biscayne Fire Rescue, Key Biscayne Police Department , and Public Works, the tree was moved to the side of the road before school and work this morning.

Thank you to our first responders and Public Works teams for their quick action and for helping keep our community moving safely. The remaining portions of the tree will be removed as soon as possible.

Our crews are out on the beach every day, working to remove as much sargassum as possible and keep our shoreline as clean and enjoyable as we can. With the sheer volume washing ashore, it’s a big job and our team is staying on it.

Sargassum is a regional issue affecting beaches throughout South Florida and beyond. Here on Key Biscayne, our crews are doing everything they can to keep up with it.

We’ll keep working, hauling and clearing as much as possible to care for our beach 🏝️
