With Electric Bikes becoming more and more popular, Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Dept wanted to share some helpful information about them.

It is a flow chart to help you, your children, and other members of the community decide if you require licensing for an E-bike. Depending on the motor, speed, and build some may be surprised that they are riding bikes that require a license or registration.

And as always, please make sure you wear your protective equipment such as helmets to keep you and your loved ones safe.

If there are any questions please feel free to reach out to us.

**Possible Jury Duty Scam**

The Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department received a report of a possible Jury Duty scam in which an unknown person, who identified himself as being a part of the Kewaunee County courts, called the complainant and stated the complainant missed jury duty. The unknown person threatened the complainant with arrest and attempted to solicit payment from the complainant.

A few things we'd like to note that would help you identify this as a scam is that the call came from an UNKNOWN number, the call was received on a Saturday when no court is in session, and the courts would not ask for a fee payment over the phone. Additionally, the Kewaunee County courts will send mail notifying of Jury Duty selection.

If you receive a similar phone call, please feel free to call the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department at 920-388-3100 if you have any questions.
