Fields continue to grow nicely with the warmer weather and still appear very fresh. Even the tallest samples today, at 28 and 29 inches, were just starting buds and showed very little stem woodiness. Fields are starting to lodge, so it's definitely go time with the predicted perfect harvest weather this week. This is the last sample for the 2026 Scissor Clips project.

Scissor clips sites saw significant growth over the weekend with the warm weather. Fields are at or nearing peak dairy quality. We will do one more scissor clips sample on Thursday, May 28. Have a safe harvest season!

Not much change in quality at the alfalfa sample sites this week. There was good growth in most fields despite the cool temperatures. Next samples will be taken on TUESDAY, May 26.
