DeJa Brew celebrated their 2nd Anniversary, by giving back to their community. First was the backpacks and school supplies giveaway. Today, they had a van in front, giving out free coffee and breakfast pastries, to some of the essential workers listed on their flyer. Then they went to the local firehouse next door, Engine 294, 102 street and took a box of pastries, then to PS64 and PS66 , 102 Precinct and also to Senator Addabbo office for their continued support. CB9 was happy to be there and support our local small businesses and will continue to support our local businesses that make up our CB9.

Tomorrow is the day. If you’re dealing with a housing issue, have questions about your rights as a tenant or need help navigating city agencies, come meet us in person at our Tenant Outreach Program.

Join us Tuesday, September 15 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Helen Marshall Cultural Center in Kew Gardens. Residents will be able to connect directly with agencies and community partners for assistance with housing complaints, tenant rights, referrals and resources, building safety concerns and advocacy follow-up.

Thank you to Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, the Mayor’s Public Engagement Unit, Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants, NYC Housing Preservation & Development and NYC Department of Buildings for partnering with us to bring these resources directly to the community.

Allison Alexis is the Founder of " We Fight Cancer Together Inc." and also a breast Cancer survivor. She started this walk 11 years ago to raise awareness and her story and goal has touched many. Let's come out and support this annual Fundraiser. Community Board 9 will be there in support . Please share and let's continue to raise awareness.
