Please help us welcome Miranda Stidham, who joins Kettering Fairmont High School as an English teacher for grades 9 and 12!
As a Fairmont graduate, Miranda says she is especially excited to give back to the community that gave so much to her. She is also grateful for the opportunity to work alongside some of the same teachers who inspired her to become an educator. As she puts it, it has been a pretty special experience going from Miranda to Ms. Stidham!
Miranda’s love for teaching started early with her younger siblings, Abby and Zach, who she considers her very first students. Over time, she realized how much she loved being part of their learning and growth, which helped inspire her to pursue a career in education.
A fun fact about Miranda, she is a fourth-generation Fairmont alumna! Her great-grandfather was also a bricklayer who helped build multiple homes and businesses throughout the area.
Outside of school, Miranda enjoys exploring the Dayton area with her dog, Goose, and spending time with her fiancé, Ben...also known as Mr. Knab to members of the marching band! Together, they enjoy local favorites like Val’s Bakery, Old Scratch, Warehouse 4 and the Metroparks.
This year, Miranda hopes to bring a strong sense of belonging to Kettering City Schools and build authentic connections with students and families throughout the community.
We’re excited to have Miranda back home as part of our Firebird family! 💙
