A proud moment for one of Idaho’s most enduring traditions.

Last night, Governor Brad Little presented Wagon Days Ketchum Idaho with the 2026 Esto Perpetua Award from the Idaho State Historical Society as part of Idaho’s America 250 commemoration. The award recognizes festivals, organizations, and community traditions that bring people together, strengthen civic life, and help carry Idaho’s story forward across generations.

For nearly seven decades, Wagon Days has celebrated the history, heritage, and spirit of the Wood River Valley. This recognition belongs to the countless volunteers, participants, sponsors, and community members who have helped make the event a treasured Idaho tradition. Supported in part by Ketchum’s Local Option Tax, Wagon Days is one example of how visitor-generated funding helps sustain the events, traditions, and experiences that define our community.

The 2026 Wagon Days schedule is now live, and reserved parade seats are available for purchase: www.wagondays.com

Did you know? The average lifespan of a road is about 40 years — which is also the age of much of Ketchum’s street system today.

That’s why the City is making significant investments in pavement preservation work designed to extend the life of roads, improve safety, and help avoid more costly repairs in the future.
Pavement preservation work will take place June 15–19 on select streets throughout Ketchum. Residents, commuters, and visitors should plan ahead for temporary parking restrictions.

We know road work during the busy summer season can be frustrating, but these improvements are an investment in the long-term health and safety of the roads our community relies on every day.

Workers have also experienced close calls in active work zones. Please slow down, follow traffic control directions, and treat crews with courtesy and respect as they complete this work safely and efficiently.
