⛔ Road Closure Notice ⛔

Trumbull Street will be temporarily closed between 1st Street and 2nd Street to allow for safe deconstruction activities of the former grain elevator. Work is anticipated to begin the week of January 12, 2026, and will remain in place only for the duration necessary to complete this phase of the project.

During the closure, traffic will be detoured to alternate routes. As a result, residents in the surrounding area may notice an uptick in traffic along nearby streets. Please see the attached map for the designated alternative traffic route during this time. We understand that construction activity and increased traffic can be disruptive, and we are working closely with the contractor to minimize impacts and maintain safety for residents, pedestrians, and drivers. Emergency access will be maintained at all times, and appropriate signage will be posted in advance.

This project represents an important step forward in the continued revitalization of the area, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation as this work moves forward!

⚠️ Potential Power Outages – Xcel Energy Weather Update ⚠️

Xcel Energy has notified us they are closely monitoring a strong wind event forecast to begin Wednesday, December 17, combined with very dry conditions that increase the risk of wildfire across much of the Front Range, including areas between Larimer and Weld Counties.

Due to these conditions, Xcel Energy is actively evaluating the need for a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) that could impact our community beginning around noon on December 17.

Important information to note:
• Xcel Energy expects to activate Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings (EPSS).
• Under EPSS, power lines are more sensitive and may shut off automatically if an issue is detected (such as wind-blown debris contacting a line).
• A Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) is currently being evaluated for Wednesday, December 17. If needed, Xcel will directly notify customers who may be affected.
• If an outage occurs, restoration may take longer than usual (several hours to several days) because crews must inspect lines before safely restoring power.

How to prepare now:
• Charge phones, medical devices, and backup batteries.
• Have flashlights, food, water, medications, and other essentials ready.
• Residents who rely on electric medical equipment should ensure backup power plans are in place.

👉 For detailed information directly from Xcel Energy visit the websites below:

We will continue to share updates as they become available.

We know there are concerns about the speed enforcement trailer, so Chief Lange put together this quick demonstration.
He shows that you can simply let off the accelerator and reach the posted 45 mph in time.

Also, some information to note:
➡️ Drivers aren’t captured unless they’re 11+ mph over the 45 mph limit.
➡️ The camera takes the picture 100ft after the trailer
➡️ There’s nearly half a mile of warning from the first sign warning of speed reduction before the 45 mph zone

This video is meant to clear up questions and show that safe, legal driving is absolutely possible in this area.

🚧 Road Closure Notice – Friday, 11/21 🚧

Tomorrow, a new water service line will be installed for the building at 427 1st Street. Because the main water line runs along the east side of 1st Street, crews will need to dig a trench across the road to connect the new pipe.

🕗 Closure Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Location: 1st Street from Hill Street to Trumbull Street

Through traffic—including trucks—will be rerouted to 9th Street from Latham and Hill Streets (see attached map). Local traffic will still be able to access 1st Street through the barricades and can detour around the trench using McIntyre, 2nd, and Trumbull Streets as needed.

Businesses will remain open, and on-street parking is still available, though visitors are welcome to use the Town Hall parking lot if they prefer to avoid the worksite.
💧 Water service will NOT be turned off for this project.

Once the new pipe is installed, the trench will be backfilled and lanes will reopen while the remainder of the work is completed.
