🚨🚧 Attention to motorists in 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗞𝗲𝗿𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 --

The Kerr County Road & Bridge Department reminds motorists that Cade Loop Bridge is 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 to traffic, even though both approaches from Cade Loop and TX39 have been repaired to a passable standard.

🔨 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚?
The bridge deck is currently resting on rollers that allow the contractor to reposition the bridge. The bridge is NOT SAFE for vehicle traffic at this time.

📅 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗟𝗘:
🔹 Bridge work is scheduled to continue through Friday, Oct. 23.

🔹 The bridge will remain 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 throughout the weekend.

🔹 Work will resume Monday, Oct. 26.

⛔ 𝗗𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗢𝗥 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗦! Doing so is ILLEGAL and could cause additional delays in completing the project.

👮 𝗟𝗔𝗪 𝗘𝗡𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 has been requested to enforce the closure and help protect motorists and construction crews.

🙏 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗕𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧! We understand the inconvenience, but the bridge must remain closed until it is safe to reopen.

🚧 Just because the road looks passable DOES NOT mean the bridge is open!

🏛️ Another local governmental office is heading home! The Kerr County District Clerk's Office is relocating back to the courthouse this week. 💙💛

The July flood severely damaged the lower level of the courthouse, including its elevators, forcing officials to close the facility and relocate all departments housed there to temporary sites.

While offices on the main floor were able to return in early September, those from the second floor had to wait for the main elevator to be repaired.

Fortunately, the elevator has been fixed! The District Clerk's office will say goodbye to its temporary home at the Hill Country Youth Event Center and move back to Suite 236 on the courthouse's second floor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
