The Kerr County Court at Law is returning to its home at the Kerr County Courthouse, 700 Main Street in Kerrville.

📌 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄:

🔴 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁. 𝟰 — The Court at Law office will be 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 for relocation.

🇺🇸 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁. 𝟳 — Most Kerr County offices will be 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 in observance of Labor Day.

The burn ban is now 𝗜𝗡 𝗘𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗖𝗧 for all of Kerr County.

The ban on open-flame, outdoor burning is in effect in Kerr County Precincts 1, 2, 3 and 4.

📣 Justice of the Peace - Precinct 1 moving back to the courthouse!

⚖ JP1 Mitzi French and her staff will be among those fortunate office workers who will be making the move "home" soon to the Kerr County Courthouse. 🏛️

👉 Here’s what you need to know about the move:

🚚 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁. 𝟰 — 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗
The JP-1 office will be 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 all day to allow staff to relocate equipment and furniture back to the courthouse.

🇺🇸 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁. 𝟳 — 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬
The JP1 office, like most Kerr County offices, will be CLOSED on Monday in observance of the federal holiday, Labor Day.

Due to the severe flooding that destroyed the lower level and damaged the elevators, the basement and the second floor continue to be inaccessible to the public. Public movements will be monitored and limited to those offices on the first floor ONLY that have officially reopened.

Outdoor warning siren TEST - noon tomorrow, Sept. 2.

The monthly outdoor warning siren test will be conducted this Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at noon. This is only a test. It confirms that the system is working and helps everyone recognize the warning sound. Please note the sirens are tested monthly on a set schedule. If you ever hear the sirens at a time other than a scheduled test, treat it as a real warning and follow guidance from local emergency managers. Thank you for your support as we work to strengthen emergency preparedness.

Kerr County has been released by the TAHC as a NWS Infested Zone. Here's what happens in that process...

When a NWS Infested Zone (IZ) is released, here's what happens:

1. TAHC posts a new executive order announcing the area is released.
2. Effective immediately, movement restrictions are lifted in the released area.
3. Response efforts may continue in the area, including sterile fly releases, fly trapping, and animal inspections.
4. Producers remain vigilant and continue to regularly check their animals.

Zone releases mark an important milestone, but it doesn't mean the risk is gone. Keep checking animals regularly, practice NWS prevention, and report suspected cases right away. These activities help detect problems early and protect Texas livestock, wildlife, and other animals from NWS.

Kerr County has been released from the Texas Animal Health Commission as a New World Screwworm (NWS) Infested Zone!

AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) executive director officially released movement restrictions for areas of Texas previously deemed as New World screwworm (NWS) Infested Zones. Following months of coordinated surveillance and eradication activities, designated areas of Gillespie, Kerr, Kimble, La Salle, and Webb Counties were released from New World Screwworm (NWS) movement restrictions on August 31, 2026, marking a significant milestone in Texas' ongoing NWS response.

Another Kerr County office is heading home! The Kerr County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office will return to the Kerr County Courthouse next week.

There will be 𝗡𝗢 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗨𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘 to the public at the West Kerr County Courthouse Annex, 510 College Street in Ingram, while courthouse staff move back to their offices.

The Tax Office will be back serving citizens in Suite 124 at the Kerr County Courthouse, 700 Main Street in Kerrville on Thursday, Sept. 3. (Note: The reopening is contingent on DMV technology updates being completed successfully by state.)
