After many requests from the community, we are excited to announce that beginning this summer, the concession stand will be replacing all ice cream and slushies with…

𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐯𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬!

That’s right! Carrot sticks, celery cups, and broccoli bites will now be the official pool snacks to promote healthy summer habits.

Kalona Bars will only be available on special occasions such as leap years and snow days.

Reminder: Lifeguard and concession stand applications are due Wednesday, April 1st at 4:00 PM.

We can’t open the pool without the perfect team!

Requirements:
🛟 Lifeguards must be 15 years of age or older and certified
🍿 Concession Stand Workers must be 14 years of age or older

We are looking forward to Summer 2026, and we’re excited to announce that we are now booking pool parties at the City of Keota Jacquelyn J Singmaster Murphy Aquatic Center.

Whether you're celebrating a birthday, team party, or just a fun summer gathering, the pool is the perfect place to make memories.

Pool Party Pricing
1–25 guests (2 lifeguards): $175
26–49 guests (3 lifeguards): $225
50–100 guests (4 lifeguards): $325

A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve your date.

You also have the option to have the concession stand open during your pool party—please let us know at the time of booking.

You can add unlimited slushies to your party for just $40!

To reserve your date, pay your deposit, and complete the party agreement, please stop into Keota City Hall or call the office at

Lifeguard Certification Opportunity!

The Washington County YMCA will be holding a Lifeguard Certification Class on May 8–10.

Anyone interested must register at least two weeks in advance so they can be entered into the system and receive the prerequisite materials that must be completed before the class begins.

Class Schedule:
📅 May 8: 4:00–9:00 PM
📅 May 9: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
📅 May 10: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

💲 Cost: $200

Fees must be paid at the time of registration to the YMCA.

Be sure to keep your receipt.

✅ Reimbursement Opportunity:
If you are employed as a lifeguard at the City of Keota Jacquelyn J Singmaster Murphy Aquatic Center, you will be reimbursed for the certification cost at the end of the summer.
