This is a great annual grant to encourage preservation at the local level. It provides seed money for preservation projects in small towns with populations of 10,000 or less. This year's deadline is May 1.

Hart Family Fund for Small Towns: Guidelines & Eligibility

Grants from the Hart Family Fund for Small Towns are intended to encourage preservation at the local level by providing seed money for preservation projects in small towns with populations of 10,000 or less. These grants help stimulate public discussion, enable local groups to gain the technical expertise needed for particular projects, introduce the public to preservation concepts and techniques, and encourage financial participation by the private sector. Grants from the Hart Family Fund for Small Towns generally range from $2,500 to $15,000. The selection process is very competitive.

Deadline is May 1, 2026.

What a wonderful addition to the Villages! ❤️

We’re excited to share that a new Blessing Box is now available at Van Buren County Hospital (Community Services Center) 💙

This community pantry is here for anyone who may need a little extra support — stocked with non-perishable food items and basic necessities. The idea is simple:
Take what you need. Leave what you can.

At VBCH, caring for our community goes beyond clinic walls. The Blessing Box is one more way we’re living out our commitment to providing quality care close to home — in every sense of the word.

If you’d like to donate items, we welcome contributions of canned goods, hygiene products, and other shelf-stable essentials. Together, we can make sure no neighbor goes without. 💛

A BIG Thank you to the Van Buren County Community School District Construction classes for the creation of the box for us! .

The box is located in the Community Services Center Parking lot (308 Mulberry St. in Keosauqua, IA) if you have questions, you may call 319-293-8728.
