A Michigan DNR camera, set up as part of an ongoing deer movement study, recently captured this photo of a cougar in Gogebic County. The photo, captured on Oct. 1, marks the 38th confirmed report of a cougar in Michigan since 2008. Keep in mind, several of these cougar reports were likely the same individual and there is currently no conclusive evidence of a breeding population in the state. If you happen to come across evidence of a cougar in your area, please be sure to report the details at www.michigan.gov/cougars.
