It's Upcycling Thursday! Do you like to go to the local thrift store looking for a bargain? Find a mirror and paint the frame orange. Then, paint the mirror black. Add your favorite fall wording, a stem and some raffia for a unique seasonal piece!

Shout out to our Hardin County Master Gardeners for the Children's Fall Garden Program they hosted last weekend. We heard it was a huge success and the kids had fun. Thanks for sharing your excitement and knowledge about plants with the kids of Hardin County.

It's Upcycling Thursday! It's time to give Grandma a call and see if she has any embroidery hoops you can use. Each pumpkin takes 3 pair of hoops, some glue, a little orange paint, some leaves and a cork for a stem. It's a simple DIY project to add a festive touch to your home decor.

It's Upcycling Thursday! Do you have any empty, oddly shaped bottles lying around? Here's an easy and fun Fall project. Grab a couple of bottles, some orange paint and a paintbrush and transform them into festive fall decor. Add a few leaves and wrap some twine around the top to create a 'stem.'

Hey Hardin County- When you are out driving, we need you looking for the best decorated porch in the county. Please find home that is decorated for Fall, take a picture and include an address. We will keep our contest open until Monday, October 14. (Talk to the owners and tell them what a great job they did and how you want to enter them in our contest!!)

Congratulation to BKP Ambulance Company for receiving the Keep Hardin County Beautiful Business Outstanding Beautification Award.
BKP has been bursting with color with their butterfly bushes, petunias and roses that have been blooming all summer long.
Aaron Osborn takes care of their landscaping and really puts his heart into what he does for BKP. Around the weeping cherry tree, he planted white petunias in the shape of the Star of Life(symbol representing EMT's) as well as taking care of other plants on their grounds. He continues with snow removal and putting up lights and wreaths during the colder months.
Keep Hardin County Beautiful wants to thank BKP and Aaron Osborn for making Hardin County a little more beautiful.

It's October!!! Time to get out all your Fall decorations!!! Here is a simple craft you can make with old washers and a nail, a little glue and some paint.( found on Internet).
(If my husband wondered where the washers came from, I could tell him I was recycling old metal to make a new decoration!!!)

It's Upcycling Thursday! Here's another idea found on the Internet. Do you have a clay pot that broke over the summer and you just don't want to throw it out? How about those succulents that won't weather well outside as the weather gets colder? Get creative with your ideas and you could have a new favorite planter for your plants.

THANK YOU to Ridgemont, Kenton, Hardin Northern and Ada FFA chapters for helping at the Hardin County Fair. Each group took one morning and collected recyclables from the bins all around the fairgrounds. They took time from their busy schedules to help out and we appreciate their hard work!
