Thank goodness for the rain! It may seem like the rain is never going to stop, but we sure are thankful for all of the rain that we've recieved here at the Elsasser Farm! Because of all the rain, our garden has really taken off! We decided to do a second planting of carrots a couple of weeks ago because our first planting didn't turn out as well as we had hoped, and now our second planting is turning out to be phenomenal!
In addition, we do have a bit of lettuce and spinach ready for harvest and have harvested a bit of it already! It's all truly delicious! We have both green and greenish/red leaf/bib type lettuce, red romaine, and green round-leaf style lettuce as well as Bloomsdale spinach, which is a type of spinach with pointy/star-like leaves that are very crisp and refreshing! Let us know if you'd like some!
We're also in the process right now of uploading some newer pictures from around the garden, showing how huge and fast our plants are growing! We have several grape- and cherry-type tomatoes on now that will be ripe before too long and just a few regular-sized tomatoes as well, to look forward to! Just about everything in the garden has at least a few buds/blooms on and lots of the plants even have the first signs of produce, which you'll see in the newest pictures!
So stay tuned for much more fresh, organic, heirloom produce to come, and don't forget to let us know what and when you would like to have from us at the Elsasser Farm! And of course, share our page with your friends and family! Because the more you share and help us out, the more we can expand and in turn help you out by supplying you with the highest quality organic and heirloom produce in Hardin County!
