BRIMFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES
FIRE DEPARTMENT LEADERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT

The Brimfield Township Board of Trustees announces a leadership transition within the Brimfield Township Fire Department, effective September 14, 2026.

Fire Chief Craig Mullaly has elected to step down from his position as Fire Chief for personal and professional reasons. Chief Mullaly has served Brimfield Township as Fire Chief for the past 11.5 years, and the Board thanks him for his years of service and leadership in that role. He will remain a member of the Brimfield Township Fire Department, serving as a Lieutenant.

As we look to the future, the Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Ron Goodspeed as Fire Chief of the Brimfield Township Fire Department, effective September 14, 2026.

Chief Goodspeed currently serves as Assistant Fire Chief and brings extensive experience, knowledge of our department and community, and a strong commitment to the men and women of the Brimfield Township Fire Department.

The Board has full confidence in Chief Goodspeed’s leadership and his ability to guide the department through its next chapter. We believe he is the right person to lead our firefighters, strengthen department operations, and ensure Brimfield Township continues providing the exceptional fire and emergency services our residents expect and deserve.

As part of this leadership transition and organizational restructuring, the Board has also eliminated the Assistant Fire Chief position. Moving forward, Chief Goodspeed will implement a command structure that allows the department to operate effectively without the additional administrative cost associated with that position.

Our focus is firmly on the future. The Board of Trustees remains committed to supporting our firefighters, being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars, and ensuring the Brimfield Township Fire Department continues to be a department our residents and community can be proud of.

We are excited about the direction of the department under Chief Goodspeed’s leadership and look forward to working alongside him as we move forward together.

Please join the Brimfield Township Board of Trustees in congratulating Fire Chief Ron Goodspeed on his appointment and wishing him success as he takes command of the Brimfield Township Fire Department.
