The cost of war with Iran isn’t just being felt at the gas pump — it’s also impacting food banks. As more families turn to these organizations for help, many are facing funding cuts. We should be doing everything we can to support our most vulnerable neighbors, not leaving their plates empty.

The organizations that feed millions were already dealing with cuts, inflation and more people seeking help. Now the war in Iran is forcing groups to make hard choices.

I joined my colleagues in urging Secretary Duffy and FAA Administrator Bedford to take immediate action on aviation noise. Communities like SeaTac in Washington's 9th District have been living under flight paths for years — dealing with real health effects like cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and stress. It is long past time to convene the Aircraft Noise Advisory Committee, hold public meetings, and give these communities the seat at the table they are owed by law.
