🐾 Another solid job by PSD Hondo 🐾

Early this morning, PSD Hondo and I assisted Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies during a traffic stop that developed into a larger narcotics investigation.

The investigation resulted in the recovery of approximately:

• 45 grams of suspected co***ne
• 19.3 grams of suspected fentanyl
• $7,949 in cash
• A replica fi***rm

A good example of how proactive police work, teamwork between agencies, and a well-trained K-9 can all come together during one traffic stop.

🐾 Great track by K9 Hondo! 🐾

During the early-morning hours of August 24, 2026, a wanted man fled from an officer. Hondo tracked him through a commercial area and dense greenbelt before leading officers to several large containers. Hondo then displayed specific behavior indicating to his handler, Officer Lerma, that the containers needed to be checked.

Officers checked one and found the suspect hiding inside with his dog. The suspect surrendered and was safely taken into custody.

That hiding spot likely would not have been checked without Hondo. Drones and other technology are valuable, but they cannot see through solid containers. Hondo’s nose provided information no camera could and led officers directly to the suspect.

🐾 K9 Hondo Finds the Evidence! 🚔

After a robbery in Mill Creek, K9 Hondo was deployed along the North Creek Trail to search for property discarded by the suspects.

While working the trail, Hondo suddenly turned into a heavily wooded area and pushed through thick brush and thorny vegetation. His nose led officers directly to the victim’s stolen property, hidden well off the trail.

Another great example of what these dogs can do when their nose goes to work! 🐕‍🦺💙

K9 Hondo responded to assist with an armed robbery suspect barricaded inside a vehicle. After SWAT arrived, K9 Hondo was incorporated into the tactical plan and stood ready if a K9 deployment became necessary.

The suspect was taken into custody.

Foot patrol in the woods: 1 🌲
Officer’s vehicle keys: 0 🔑
PSD Hondo: undefeated. 🐾

While officers were out on foot patrol north of the library, a set of vehicle keys decided to go missing under the leaves and vegetation. After about a 40-minute head start, Hondo went to work and quickly located them.

Just another reminder that our officers are out and about in the community — and sometimes Hondo has to help them find their way back to the car. 🚓🐕

Hondo had himself a busy night shift 🐾🚔

Early this morning, Hondo responded to assist the Everett Police Department and Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office after a vehicle incident led to a search in a residential/wooded area.

Hondo put his nose to work, tracked through some tough terrain, and helped bring the situation to a safe conclusion.

Afterward, he switched gears and assisted Everett PD with a vehicle sniff for narcotics before calling it a night.

Focused when it matters. Happy to work. Always ready for the next job.
