Police and Fire Department personnel are working in the area of Worthington Ridge and Mill Street. Please avoid the area, as there are multiple road closures at this time. There is no danger to the public.

The Berlin Police Department is requesting assistance for gathering surveillance footage of a motor vehicle involved in an evading accident. The accident occurred on 6/11/2026 at approximately 12:30am- 1:00am. From fluid trail, Officers were able to determine the vehicle traveled on Hudson St (east of Westview Ter), took a right onto Worthington Rdg S/B, traveled E/B on Middletown Rd and then N/B on Berlin Tpke. The Berlin PD is requesting any footage from the aforementioned area and time that either show the motor vehicle accident or a vehicle with obvious front-end damage. 🔥🔥🔥 THURSDAY, JUNE 4TH!!! 🔥🔥🔥

The Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics will be making its way through Berlin on Thursday, June 4th!

Annually, a three-day Torch Run takes place every June leading up to the Special Olympics Summer Games. Known honorably as Guardians of the Flame®, law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes carry the Flame of Hope into the Opening Ceremony of local competitions, and into Special Olympics State, Provincial, National, Regional, and World Games. For athletes and officers alike, the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is a story of success, love, respect, and commitment between law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes.

Use the attached route listing to see the Flame of Hope as it makes its way through town and cheer on our runners and athletes!

PRESS RELEASE BPD CASE # 2600007329

On Saturday May 23rd, 2026 at 1220 PM Berlin Police responded to the VALE Co-Op, 505 Four Rod Rd. in Berlin after receiving several 911 calls reporting a large fight at a youth basketball tournament. Following an investigation and review of available video of the incident, 3 adults were arrested and charged with Breach of Peace 2nd Degree. There were no injuries reported by any of those involved in the altercation.

The following were charged with violation of:
CGS 53a-181 Breach of Peace 2nd Degree.
