Our Story

Sylvia Hacaj, KPPCSD Board Director Since my election in November 2016, I have been working to forge pragmatic solutions that will have tangible, positive and long-lasting impacts on Kensington. Early in my tenure I voted to address the inherent conflict of interest in having a combined chief of police and general manager by hiring our town's first professional, independent General Manager. Last year I approved commissioning the Matrix Consulting Group to conduct an assessment of our police department and exploration of partnerships with neighboring jurisdictions that could meet our community-policing needs and budgetary realities. I also led efforts to implement necessary seismic, accessibility and energy-efficiency upgrades to our community center. In 2019 I am looking forward to breaking ground on the community center renovation and considering the results of the Matrix study. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you!
