The Kensington Library will close for at least one year starting in the latter part of 2026 for major upgrades, including new HVAC, electrical and lighting improvements, ADA updates, and interior renovations.

California homeowners are experiencing a huge increase in their insurance rates, or getting dropped from coverage. Come learn about strategies to maintain affordable coverage and protect your property through fire mitigation and home hardening. Guest speakers will be United Policy Holders and Alan Siegel of Firesafe Kensington (FSK),who will discuss their new Educational Ambassador program-a free service to assist Kensington residents with ideas and options for home and neighborhood safety.

The Kensington Library is getting a makeover! Starting this summer, the library will be closed, for at least one year, to get a new HVAC, electrical and lighting upgrades, ADA improvements, and interior renovations!

You are invited to a community meeting, to share your input about the remodel plans with the architects and library leadership. Save the date, and stay tuned for what time the meeting will be.

Black North American Herbalism and Foodways

Saturday, February 10 | 2:30 p.m.

Black North American Herbalism, and the associated African American Materia Medica, encompasses 400 years of innovation and resilience in plant science. Join Shereel Washington in this introduction to the rich history and knowledge of African Americans herbal healers, past and present. The presentation will also touch upon important staples in African American foodways.

Samplings of ‘Know your Roots’ tea will be available to take home (while supplies last), as well as a special recipe for collard greens.
