We meet once a month at El Señorial Mexican Restaurant Kenosha on the third Monday at 6 pm. Have a margarita and some yummy food while planning ways to engage and help our community. We are currently planning a school supply drive. Come join us next month.

The Real RINOs

Historically, Republicans were known for their fiscal conservatism and abhorrence to presumed waste. That has changed.

Today’s GOP leaders, particularly those in Congress, are okay with Trump using billions upon billions of taxpayer dollars for needless, ostentatious vanity projects:

The White House ballroom,

Painting the reflecting pool,

The Eisenhower Office Building,

The Independence Arch that would obstruct the view of Arlington Cemetery,

Alligator Alcatraz with operating costs of over $1million a day!

Starting a war with Iran,

Kidnapping President of Venezuela,

Tariffs!

So now we have to pay more for gas, more for health care, more for just about everything while our country’s deficit grows and services shrink. Meanwhile, our status in the world has been greatly diminished.

When a few GOP members challenge Trump, he calls them RINOs and exacts vengeance.

The real RINOs are Trump and those members of Congress who let him get away with it.

Pride recognition deserves an honest vote

Kenosha County should be honest about what happened when its Human Services Committee took up a resolution to recognize June 2026 as Pride Month.

The committee's own June 2 agenda lists "A Resolution to recognize June 2026 as Pride Month." That is not a grant program, a hiring quota or a rewrite of federal law. It is a public statement that LGBTQ neighbors belong in the county they call home.

So citing Title VI of the Civil Rights Act as a reason to bury the resolution is a dodge. The U.S. Department of Justice says Title VI prohibits discrimination in federally funded programs based on race, color, and national origin. It does not make local governments less free to recognize Pride Month.

Kenosha County can disagree respectfully about policy. But recognizing the dignity and visibility of LGBTQ residents should not be treated as a threat. The full County Board should bring this resolution back, debate it openly, and vote on the merits.
