Digging into careers with real tools and opportunities! Students from across the Mid-Columbia area, including those from Southridge and Legacy High Schools, got a hands-on experience at Construction Career Day. This is an annual interactive event that introduces them to the many pathways within the construction industry. From operating heavy equipment to observing safety demonstrations, students gained a firsthand look at what it takes to be in the field. 👷🏼🔨

Thank you to Tri-Tech Skills Center, NAWIC Chapter 192, Tri-Cities, Tri-City Construction Council and all the other volunteers who made this incredible event possible!

Superintendent Shout-out to Legacy High School!

"Here’s some love for Legacy High School, where Michelle Johnson’s seniors are learning all about how and whom to ask for letters of reference, what key information to provide and how to keep an organized file for their future. As students get ready to graduate, it was awesome to see them learning skills that will serve them well into the future. I enjoyed visiting with Principal Guy Strot last week and after spending some time in Michelle’s class, we also visited Sandy Nuxoll’s science class, where students were learning about toxicology and conducting research into various poisons and their effects. It was fun to talk with students and hear everything they are learning at Legacy. Kudos to the entire team there!"

-Dr. Traci Pierce, Superintendent

Looking Back & Dreaming Ahead with the Class of 2025 💭💫➡️
Meet Logan Misuraca, a senior at Legacy High School and a standout student in Tri-Tech’s automotive program. A natural leader, Logan serves as ASB President at Legacy and is a dedicated member of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, where he meets monthly with district leaders to offer insight, ask questions, and help shape important decisions that impact our schools.

Logan’s journey hasn't been easy. He overcame homelessness on his path to graduation and will be the first in his family to graduate.

“He came in with the specific intent to graduate, worked hard by taking extra classes, and was diligent in getting straight A’s,” Michelle Johnson, Logan’s leadership and English teacher, said. “He is a true testament to what Legacy does and an excellent example of what can happen when you put your mind to something.”

Logan, we are so proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished!

Legacy High School Students "Share the Love" with Our Community!

Our Legacy High School leadership students are making a difference! For the 11th year, they partnered with Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels to create and deliver heartfelt cards as part of the McCurley Subaru Share the Love event. This tradition goes beyond crafting—it’s about connecting with and bringing joy to seniors in our community. This program helps students practice their soft skills while giving back to others.

Thank you to Benton/Franklin School Retirees' Association for the grant award that provides the supplies to make cards!

Way to go, Legacy High students! Your compassion and leadership make us proud!
