Hello, Kennewick! Ballots for the upcoming replacement levy are arriving in the mail.

This levy replaces the current levy that is set to expire. These local funds are essential because they support vital programs, staff, and student opportunities that state funding simply doesn’t cover.
Your vote helps keep our schools strong for every kid. Please review your ballot, make your voice heard, and thank you for supporting our students!

SUPERINTENDENT SHOUT OUT!
"A big shout out to Dr. Rama Devagupta, Southridge High School science teacher! Dr. Devagupta is one of 26 teachers selected as a semi-finalist for the 2024-2025 Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship. The Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship Program provides a unique opportunity for accomplished K-12 educators in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to serve in the national education arena. Fellows spend 11 months working in Federal agencies or in U.S. Congressional offices, applying their extensive knowledge and classroom experiences to national education program and/or education policy efforts. At the end of the Fellowship, educators are equipped with access to a national network of education leaders and programs, a better understanding of the challenges and possibilities in STEM education, and a renewed passion for teaching. Dr. Devagupta continually seeks out professional learning opportunities that will make a difference for her students, and we congratulate her for her efforts and accomplishments."
- Dr. Traci Pierce, Superintendent

This is an easy, low time-commitment way to have an impact on KSD’s search for our new Superintendent. Please take a minute or two and apply to be part of the community panel.

INVITATION TO APPLY FOR THE INTERVIEW OBSERVATION PANEL
The Board invites parents, community members, and staff members to apply to serve on an Interview Observer Panel.

Kennewick School District is currently conducting a search for a new deputy/successor superintendent. The deputy successor will oversee operational services in the 2024-25 school year and then replace current superintendent, Dr. Traci Pierce, when she retires on July 1, 2025.

The Board of Directors will be conducting preliminary interviews on March 20 and March 21, 2024. The Board is seeking individuals to participate on an Interview Observer Panel to observe the preliminary interviews and provide feedback to the Board.

The Board is seeking 10 parents/community members and 10 staff members to participate on the Interview Observer Panel. Interested individuals should complete the online application here: https://forms.gle/y454y9fqoZpRp6Ug8

Panel members must be able to attend both nights of interviews:

Wednesday, March 20: 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Thursday, March 21: 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Location: Kennewick School District Office at 1000 W Fourth Avenue, Kennewick. Light snacks will be provided both evenings.

Applications are due by 1 p.m. on March 8, 2024. If more applications are received than spots available, a random number generator will be used to select participants. Those selected will be contacted by email.
