Our PNW dams do more than generate abundant, reliable hydropower.

The Lower Snake River Dams alone create a transportation superhighway that carries more than 2 million tons of cargo to market every year.

Ride along with Adam Ratliff as he journeys downriver and explores how Pacific Northwest dams support transportation, irrigation, agriculture, and reliable power.

Trees planted too close to power lines can cause outages, fires, and injuries.

Are you planting the right 🌳 in the right place?

Planting the right tree promotes:
⚡ Fewer Outages
🔌 More Consistent Service
🏡 Safer Neighborhoods

"Every year the PUD removes a lot of trees that are under power lines," said Brian Cramer, Utility Tree Coordinator.

He teamed up with the City of Kennewick last week to celebrate Arbor Day and plant some trees away from the power lines.
